1997 Dodge Neon Sport review from North America
"This car is a grocery getter or school car for your kid"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Several minor thing have already gone wrong with the neon. The coolant temp sensor is bad. It has a pinhole leak in the rear main seal. The electrical system is, and has always been poor (overhead light blinks and goes out, the cd player and radio act odd.)
The egr valve went at about 70,000. The thermastat went.
General comments?
The neon is a decent grocery getter IF it is maintained; HEAVEN HELP YOU if you miss an oil change by more than a few hundred miles.
After about 80,000 miles or so minor thing will break.
The car is very flimsy, made for city driving only.
