What things have gone wrong with the car?

The Dodge Raider V6, 3.0 has been over all out standing! Its required basic service on items just wearing out! I have replaced the starter at 150,000

timing belts, brakes, and nothing major! The seats at 168,000 have started to wear a little! All out & out

it been a great vehicle!

General comments?

I have to say The Dodge Raider is one of the Best vehicles I have ever owned!

It handles well! So small its great for

parking! Great vision in traffic! Off the road it's a monster goes like nobodies business! I have been out in weather when nothing else was moving &

this vehicle went though Ice Snow Mud

like it wasn't even there! One Great Vehicle! Mines getting old, but I'm planning on restoring it!

Say, do you have any problems with oil burning for your engine? I know the 3 liter V6 was well known for burning oil in Chrysler minivans and the like, but I've never really heard anyone mention problems with this engine in other vehicles like the Raider and the older Hyundai Sonata, makes me wonder.

I have a 1989 3L V6 Dodge Raider with a cracked engine block. I am wondering what vehicles would have a compatible engine block. I know the Mitsubishi Montero and the Dodge D50 are compatible, but I am having a really hard time finding any of these vehicles in my area.

If anyone knows any OTHER vehicles I may be able to switch blocks with, or where in Nova Scotia I can find ANY of these vehicles, could you PLEASE let me know... you can e-mail me at thomasadina@hotmail.com.

I LOVE THIS TRUCK and would hate to have to scrap it... (If that happens I have to drive the wifes K car) PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Thanks in advance to all my fellow DODGE Raider enthusiasts!!!

The question is does the 3.0 V6 in the Dodge Raider burn oil! Yes! A little! But nothing you would notice! Ever engine burns a little! I regularly change oil every 3,000 miles! Plus add a little Lucus oil additive! Something like STP, but I feel is better! My Raider has 168,000 miles still runs good! My last vehicle a chevy pick-up had 350,000 on it when I sold it to a friend! I feel I will get 200,000 to 300,000 miles from this truck maybe more! A litle love and care goes a long way!

Having been talked into buying a 2003 Dodge Neon SXT a year ago after my Suzuki Sidekick had been totalled (rear-ended), I have really missed being in an SUV. I am constantly looking at what's available on used car lots. Yesterday, I happened across a 1989 Dodge Raider - I had never heard of this vehicle. I was intrigued. I took down the VIN, but haven't checked it out yet. Instead I went on the Internet to see what I could find out. Almost all of the reviews have been fantastic, which has piqued my curiosity even more. Today I took it for a spin "around the block" during my lunch break. It handled pretty good. The interior is really rough; the previous owner hauled feed on his ranch. But I guess things like that can be fixed easily enough. The dealer gave me a print-out of what repairs the owner had done back in 2002. Here is the list: long block (engine - new), master cylinder, oil added, spark plugs, tire valves, timing belt, water pump, trans mount, belt, rotor, cap, plug wires, master cylinder gasket, brake fluid. The whole job cost approx $3000. When I took the vehicle for a spin, the engine made a little whine, but the dealer said that the owner told him about that, but it had always made that noise. The Raider is on consignment for the owner - who is asking $2950. Short story long (sorry) - do y'all think this is a good deal, and should I take it to my mechanic for a lookover? Any comments would be extremely helpful. If this is an outstanding deal, I don't want someone else to grab it before I do. (also, I am looking at a 1999 Chevy Tracker - which also has some excellent reviews). Thanks a million!

I have an 89 Dodge Raider and lately have had some trouble. It has original only 55,000 miles and I know since my Uncle had owned it prior to me. Anyway it would cut out on rare occasions and then after cooling down would Always Always start... until one day when I made the mistake of taking it to Pep Boys and I think the guy blew out the computer since he must have put the charger on backwards which caused reverse polarity and messed everything up. If anyone has feedback please email me ASAP to: iamfromjupiter@yahoo.com cuz I don't have a lot of money to put into it right now. I am looking for the computer as of now... that goes right under in front of the passenger seat. I really want TO KEEP MY CAR or I would consider a trade.

If anyone has feedback please email me ASAP to: iamfromjupiter@yahoo.com.

Thank You all! Margaret.

My friend Joe has a 1989 Dodge Raider special edition. We would take it to the river in Alabama and play around a little bit. The Raider is hard to get stuck in red clay mud. If you cut the muffler off a Raider a v6 it will sound like a little import race car. By. Big Dusty.

I just bought the 4 cylinder Dodge Raider, I had never even heard of it before the 1300.00$ deal fell into my lap. It has 133,000 miles the engine still looks new. I gave it a tune up (plugs, wires and a new fuel filter made the biggest difference.) After seeing the raider enthusiasts online I took it off road. Into swamp mud. Not too deep or wet, but I have seen Much bigger vehicles get stuck there. By the way I have stock size street tires on it! No problem, she drove in and out like I was on a wet road! I will now make it a real off roader all the bells and whistles as I believe it is worth it. I love it It does what ever you ask it to!

I bought a 89 Raider with 89,000 from a guy that came here to Puerto Vallarta for $1,500. It has a V6 and the motor you could eat off, it's so clean. What a outstanding rig! I have driven it into some very remote jungle and swamp land, and it has never let me down. I am going to outfit it for safari.
