1994 Dodge Ram Laramie SLT review from North America
"Overall a good vehicle, despite a few anticipated problems"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Clear-coat on hood and roof was bad when I bought it. Common on '94 model Chrysler vehicles.
Ball joints at 195,000.
Possibly a blown head gasket. Results coming from mechanic in a few days. I was told by one mechanic that the 318 is known for gasket problems. I have no way of knowing this for sure.
General comments?
Overall a good vehicle. Not the greatest cosmetic shape, but about what you could expect for a truck that's 15 years old.
The previous owner put a new transmission, radiator, and intake manifold gasket into it. He said the transmission went out at about 182,000 miles. Chrysler transmissions are known for this sort of thing.
It's performed well for me up to this point. Pulls 7,700 lbs. (the max tow rating for an automatic) almost effortlessly.
