The starter unit needs to be replaced, although I heard this problem is very common in the Dodge Pickups.
Leather seats have wear on them.
Step-sides are in need of reinforcement.
Dashboard started to crack.
I love this truck a lot. It is very smooth riding, whether riding alone or with 6 people. This truck is awesome to add performance parts on. I have added on headers, exhaust, throttle body, throttle body spacer, hi flo catalytic converter, performance intake, and plan on getting a Jet Chip and torque converter. It has some serious geddy-up! Its easy to do your own maintainance (i.e- oil changes and spark plugs) and unlike Fords, it doesn't have 50 wires and hoses under the hood! I love the way it handles also. You can use it as a work truck or just soup it up into an offroader or sport truck. I would strongly recommend that if you're looking into buying a truck, try one of these out. If you can't Dodge it, RAM it!!!
We put 87,000 miles on our ram the first year. Awesome truck.
I did put a freeze plug in it that rusted out, but other than that it was great.
I sold it after 2 1/2 years... wish i'd kept it.
It had a 318, but with a few mods you couldn't tell it.
I recently purchased a 1996 dodge ram with the 360. It has many extras including a "Mark 3" customized interior. It is very fun to drive, but I have had a few minor concerns with it such as the steering is loose, and very bad gas mileage. I'm sure both problems are easily solved, I just need time to look into it. I have always been a Chevy fan, but this truck has changed my mind. This truck is absolutely awesome off road also. I plan on keeping her for a long time.
