2001 Dodge Ram Pickup 1500 SLT review from North America
"A heavy duty looking truck, with light duty performance"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The engine has cold start/idle problems that do not produce an error code, the dealer says it does not occur.
The truck get very poor fuel mileage.
My old 454 pickup gets better mileage.
The front axle disconnect systems makes
a loud squeak on every revolution when
4x4 is engaged. The dealer could not fix this either.
The truck is rated to tow 5000 lbs, but
struggles with a 650 pound quad in the
bed.
General comments?
The truck is awesome on the Arizona trails.
An excellent truck for running an advanced trail, without extensive modifications.
Just do not use the truck as a truck, it is better suited to its image.
