1998 Dodge Stratus SE review from North America
"A reliable vehicle, when maintained properly"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Not too long ago, I had to replace the serpentine belt tensioner. I'd say it was at about 90,000 miles.
The radiator reservoir cracked at about 100,000 miles also.
I've replaced the front brakes twice, and the rear brakes are just about due, only thing though, they're annoyingly squeaky.
General comments?
I wish the the car had more horsepower, and better suspension.
The cupholders are essentially useless, and the brakes are fairly moderate.
The car does fairly well on the freeway, as I have a 200 mile roundtrip commute everyday!
The transmission seems to downshift a bit hard, coming off the freeway. Oh yes, I really can't stand the noisy clicking transmission as it upshifts or downshifts, it's just in its design, but that's why I wouldn't buy another.
