1996 Dodge Stratus ES review from North America
"A demolition derby's dream!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Ball joints, both upper and lower.
Lower control arm broke.
Head gasket blew.
Wheel bearings replaced MANY times.
Doesn't hold an alignment.
Car runs hot continuously.
Oxygen sensor replaced two times.
Heater control switch only works on high.
Lights in dash at heater control panel go out frequently.
Thermostat replaced 3 times.
Trunk lock hasn't worked since first time car was washed.
Driver side lock doesn't work.
Driver side window, non-electric, off the track.
Trunk shock broke.
Seat belts tighten up to choking stance for no reason.
Paint peeling off hood from engine heat... or could it be poor primer?
General comments?
Once again, Dodge has made a pill. This car, in performance, or lack of, is identical to the Daytona that I had. Seems all troubles I had with the first car are coming back to haunt me tenfold in this one.
This car handles well when it is in top working condition, but it seems one problem is taken care of and immediately another one springs up!!
