1977 Dodge Van Tradesman B200 review from North America
"The 77 Dodge B200 is a great little van"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing major. It was so cold natured that I added a manual choke, but it never gave me a minutes problem.
General comments?
I bought this van to fix up for camping. It was a Vantastic custom conversion that had funky little useless windows in the back, but a good dinette/bed, cabinets, sink, ice box, and the previous owner had completely redone all of the carpet in the interior. I added a better window, 110 volt wiring, a 110 volt AC unit, a microwave oven, porta pottie, CB Radio, curtains and extra lighting.
The van was huge fun and I wish I had never sold it. It was a little crowded for multi day camping trips, but for weekends it was perfect.
I guess I got about 15 mpg generally speaking with the 318 V8. That was the perfect engine in that van. It had plenty of power to pull mountains and get out in front of traffic at toll booths. The B200 also had good ground clearance so I have forded streams and driven down logging roads.
