1991 Eagle Premier ES Limited review from North America
"Wonderful Under-appreciated Car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
A/C Compressor, Thermostat, Alternator, Seat Belt, Left Rear Window Motor, Speedometer Gage, Struts. Transmission stuck in gear, but an oil change and additive cured it.
Some of the problems I've had was due to dealer rip off and incompetence.
Car has been reliable, and only broke down once (due to thermostat) in 12 years.
General comments?
Used to work for Chrysler so this is my third Premier--an 89, 90 and this 91. I totaled the 90 Premier in an 80 mph accident against a barrier and was impressed by its crash-worthiness. When I got laid off by Chrysler I bought it and have kept it and TLC'ed it ever since, and it still looks very good.
Love the car, very sporty handling, great on curves, extremely spacious and comfortable, especially on long trips. Long seat cushions are very comfy, with generous head and leg room. Huge trunk. Looks great, and has a lovely sound system with graphic equalizer.
I have driven BMW's and Volvo's since having this Premier and it is still my favorite. Have had more unsolicited compliments on this car than any other, even BMW's and Volvo's. Best reaction was a Korean restaurant owner when I pulled up in the car--in a thick Korean accent, he said "My Godd, whata kinde off a car isa disse".
