1993 Eagle Summit ES review from North America
"Very fast, dependable and nice looking car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Timing belt broke (not replaced on time)
Seats wear quickly on outside edges.
Rebuilt the engine at 200k as a preventative measure.
General comments?
This has been the most reliable car I have ever owned. I am extremely hard on vehicles.
The first problem was due to my negligence. (I didn't change the timing belt on time)
The result was bent valves galore. Fortunately the pistons were spared.
I took this little car from east coast to west and back. It's extremely fast for a small motor! I have a ticket to prove it! 250kph!! I have hung up my racing gloves it got too expensive.
I have recently rebuilt the engine it cost about $300Cdn not bad for another 200k! I put Slick 50 in the motor after it was broken in and the wear was very minimal inside the engine. If the timing belt didn't break it would still be going strong!
I recently bought a second one for my wife to drive. It's used, but I have great faith in this little car.
