1991 Eagle Summit ES review from North America
"Amazing reliability in a used vehicle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced a bad transmission valve that cost less than the tow when car was first purchased.
Routine brake and exhaust wear.
Does not run well in wet weather until the engine is at operating temperature, may need distributor.
No other repairs in 60,000 miles of driving.
General comments?
This is the most reliable car that I have ever owned, new or used.
No frills or thrills (at least with the three speed automatic) but it will get you there.
The steering wheel does not tilt and blocks the view of the gages for taller drivers like myself. Otherwise the cabin is comfortable. Backseat is for kids only however.
Body is remarkably rust free after several Wisconsin winters, and the car handles in deep snow very well.
Gas mileage is only so so for a four cylinder economy car. Averages 30-32 miles per gallon on the highway.
This car was actually built by Mitsubishi, and after my experience with it I will definitely be buying another of their products in the future.
