This is my third 1st generation Eagle Talon AWD. I never had a problem with this model. I think that you just have to know how to drive this kind of car and you will almost never have most problems that other cars get.
This car is not a V8, but I race the car in 1/4 miles with more boost than stock without any problem! First of all, I bought the car for winter to store my Mustang, and now, I prefer my Talon.
I was wondering if an Eagle Talon (91 TSi turbo) is an advisable car to drive in the winter, say in... ALBERTA? This would solve a mother daughter argument seeing as how people are driving in Quebec...
Yeah good idea the talon was a way better investment than the mustange I would stick to turbo dsm's :)
Talons are an excellent winter car. I have a '91 FWD TSI and I live in Northern Ontario. I slapped on a set of Winter Tires and never looked back!
I have a 90 tsi awd. the first winter I had it, I had to run the tires it came with (don't ask), a cheap set of summer "racer" tires. i live in central ontario with slush, ice and all kinds of other winter crud that does nothing for traction, and all I can say is this: all wheel drive is the best invention known to man. I'm in my 30's and grew up on rear drive v-8's and I have driven some hot car's, including an older bull. this is now my daily driver year round and I won't trade it for the world. I'll rebuild this car till I'm dead and gone.
If the talon is all wheel drive it is an excellent winter car. but like all awd cars it can be twice as hard to get control of if you get all the tires spinning.
