1991 Eagle Talon TSi FWD review from North America
"Fantastic import project car for road/track fun"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
ECU (central computer) replaced after ~65,000 miles (leaking capacitors). Cost to repair with labor ~$1300.
Throw-out bearing began making noise after ~50,000 miles (new high performance clutch with factory throw-out bearing fixed this).
Idle speed control loop failed ~65,000 miles. Cost to repair with labor ~$300.
General comments?
This was without doubt the most reliable car I've ever owned over the course of 10 years. Unfortunately, the most expensive repair item (ECU) came in after the 7/70 warranty expired.
The Diamond star family cars (Talon/Laser/Eclipse) readily accept aftermarket mods and produce healthy amounts of power (300 HP and more) for bolt-on solutions.
