1995 Eagle Talon TSI review from North America
"Its my 11 year old hot rod :-)"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
-blew my engine at about 135,000, and had it fully rebuilt. the car itself, transmission and turbo have 150,000 on it.
-my passenger airbag cover has started to peel up.
-i had to replace the power steering pump at 110,000.
-slight fading in color and I had to paint the molding black due to additional fading.
-sunroof leaks in bad rain.
-driver side seat actually snapped and had to be fixed.
-since the car is so low I have really damaged the front of the car bottoming out on curbs and driveways.
General comments?
-this is my 4th Mitsubishi built car and I love them. all have been bought when they were 10 years old, and nothing, but general maintenance have been done to any of the cars.
-i had a 1990 Eagle Summit DL, 1991 Plymouth Laser, 1993 Dodge Stealth, 1994 Nissan Maxima GXE and the Talon. the Talon rocks over all of them. the Stealth was a great car, but too heavy for the base engine size I had so acceleration was kind of poor. the Maxima is a family sedan, it had some power, but handling was poor. the Laser was awesome, the ancestor of the Talon, I brought that thing up to 207,000 miles before it finally died. the Summit was a bad one due to previous owner neglect.
-after replacing parts and doing maintenance on a variety of Mitsubishi cars, I feel like a mechanic now.
-the car is very sporty and comfortable.
-handling, acceleration and top speed is awesome.
-i have every option available on mine and everything works mint.
-i recommend this to anybody who likes speed and style.
-i love the sound the turbo makes combined with the Flomaster I put on the car.
-the gas mileage I get I feel could be better, but I know its because of the way I drive.
-i think this car has classic styling cues about it. I don't care to much for the recent styles so I know I will be holding onto my talon for a long time. I have no doubts it will make it to over 200,000 within the next 2 years with the way I drive.
