1979 Ferrari 308 GTS review from North America
"Fun in the sun"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
A/c compressor belt broke, and derailed water pump belt. was my first Ferrari malfunction and was easily repaired by local independent Ferrari mechanic. compressor siezed and a new one on ly cost $300. needed new drier and clutch too.
General comments?
Car is like a go cart. rides on rails, composed at the limit, and quick due to carbs. and Euro. spec setup. not quite as fast as my old 993, but lower and more fun to drive. no regrets on this purchase. be warned though, an old 308 is no Mercedes when it come to safety. but no one ever bought a vintage exotic to commute in, so it's best to keep this car around for joy rides on sunny weekend days and vintage car events.
