1996 Fiat Cinquecento Sporting review from UK and Ireland
"Scorching town motor!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
General things, such as lights, brake pads, handbrake cable weak due to rear drums, engine mounts at about 26000 miles, exhaust, rear bushes, nothing too expensive, needs servicing regularly.
General comments?
Duff stereo, a few rattles nowhere to hide things, just a big parcel shelf, needed a bit of power.
In the 2 years I've own it I have lowered it with Spax sport suspension, added 14" wheels making it handle like a dream, unbelievable around town, added super chip, S/S exhaust, airfilter and some new sparkplugs and leads.
Out accelerates a few hot hatches e.g. Saxo VTR's, Corsa SRi's, quick really as people expect to whip yer, but it's funny when you see their faces as you pass right by.
Great as a first car, a bit niggly though, but different. Get a 1.2 16v conversion and get from 0-60mph in less than 7.5 seconds, all usable power, or get a turbo.
