Clutch cable broke. As advised by the dealer. The cable has two right angle bends in it and it is the most common problem with these type of small fiat cars.
Seats are not very hard wearing. Luckily they did not rip, but were getting very close to it.
Some areas or the car are a real pain to get to. Mainly due to the size of the car and other components.
Some parts are expensive and can only be bought from the fiat dealer network, but if you know where too look you can find cars like these in breakers and get the parts as a fraction of the cost.
Bushes go on the rear subframe. A bit of a common fault.
Changing the head light bulbs are so ackward that you have to remove the whole unit with indicator before you can change it.
Pedals are a bit too close together for my liking. Especially when you have size 11 shoes. More suited to the lady driver.
Timing belt is another difficult one. I was told the engine has to be taken out (partially or fully) to do this.
Getting performance parts for this car is a bit difficult althou more are becoming avaliable. This is still a costly car to modify.
Very nible around town and a doddle to park.
I'm over 6ft tall and still managed to get four people in the car. Mind you the people in the back seat where not smiling when we got out.
The boot is tiny. Just big enough to get an amp and boom box in.
Fuel consumption. WOW is all you can say. Runs on pratically nothing. You start off with a full tank and drive around all day and still have a full tank at the end of it.
No chance of jump starting this car. The battery has the negative terminal right under the bulkhead. Making it very difficult to get the clamp on let alone grease on it.
As most cars use a negative-earth system these days, you could attach a jump cable clamp to any part of the body work that's metal and it will be fine!
Reason for the two right-angles on the clutch cable is because the cable has to run across to the passengers side of the car then through the bulkhead. Has to do with the conversion to RHD. But a pain though!!
