1993 Fiat Croma CHT review from UK and Ireland

A couple of times after driving the car above 60 mph it just died. thought it was the ignition switch or a bad relay

still not sure what it was. I replaced the rotor arm because it seemed to be excessively hot (choice of 5). cleaned the contact points on all the relays and made sure all wires in the ignition switch were not burning.

(you can remove all the relays and this car will still start). I am not a mechanic, but I thought this would be impossible to do.

The suspension seems soft on this car. with adults in the car the mud-flaps catch the road while turning, even going slowly. although having had them checked showed it to be ok. I have had to put new rear exhaust box on though.

It seems underpowered for 2 liters @ 90 bhp. compared to the injection model. better fuel economy is a bonus though.

In this year I have been looking for a new car. have had three, but cannot bring myself to get rid of this gem. it gives between 33-45 mpg is in immaculate, condition has Saab

it has a comfortable driving position. Higher than most its size.

the gearbox is smooth

a lovely ride on the motorway.

This model does not have as many gadgets as some I have driven, it has plain decor, and is dated compared to the engineering of todays models. but electric windows and suroof, pas and cl is enough for me; along with reliability and comfort it is as big as some estates with the back seats down.

Parts are mid price range. but some can be hard to find, especially glass or body panels.
