2001 Fiat Marea ELX review from UK and Ireland
"An excellent package"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Minor defect with the fuel pump developed after car
was rammed two days into ownership as accident
damage, but swapped over immediately.
Fiats' use of hydraulic tappets means you have to
put up with some start up clatter on very cold
days.
General comments?
The Marea ELX Auto is excellent on country roads
and on motor-ways being an effortless cruiser
but around town on pitted roads the suspension
feels a little too tight.
The cabin is comfortable and all the switchgear
is in the right place. I think some of the interior
relies too much on plastic. The seating is true Italian
comfort.
The exterior is one of the least dull saloons
on the market and the car is first rate in general.
