Hello. I went through an extensive research and deliberation before buying my mid-size car. Finally, I went for a Fiat-Adventure from a Tata-Fiat showroom. My level of satisfaction for the buying process is 9 out of 10. While, the Tata dealers are still learning about the nitty gritty of a Fiat Car, they looked promised and delivered the car to me as per the promised date. I have been driving this car for last 15 days and I have got 8.7kmpl (95% a/c) and 13 kmpl (85% a/c) in city and highway respectively in the very first filling. The mileage is certainly improving in the second filling. The car is superb. Has the best chassis and suspension (simply world class). Very good response from Fiat so far. Too early to say, but I hope I remain happy in future also with my Fiat ownership.

I have been an owner of a Palio 1.6 GTX for the last 5 years (almost). I am extremely happy with the car... you just cannot get such quality at a price like that--5.5 lakh for a 100-bhp car which looks fantastic. On the service front too, I have not faced any problems with the dealer in Pune, Jay Vijay Motors, whose service folks have been extremely good to me. I have spent less than 15000 rs. in these 5 years (just changed all tyres to tubeless once, tired of frequent punctures due too bad Pune roads). I had a problem in the first two years with bad quality fuel which used to result in the throttle valve getting stuck and the ECU taking control, accelerating and decelerating the car all of sudden... it was scary. The dealer shop tried to fix it three times with not much success. I then wrote to Fiat India, who then checked with them and I was advised to use only Power petrol... and that fixed the problem!
I am in love with the car... I like driving very much and could not think of driving a car with low pick-up or the vroom that I get from my GTX. My only crib is that the suspension--being sporty--is not soft enough for the Indian roads... or may be I am getting older :-)
Hello All,
This is another comment, that I would like to add, for the poor customer service by the FIAT-TATA Show rooms, especially in Bangalore, On Nov 10, I went to a show room to ask for FIAT PALIO) ELX, they told me that there is no stock, and we might receive in January
(if we book now), and also they told that they company gives all refurbished vehilces... by which I was taken back... refurbished?, I heard of that only on electronic not only Vehicles.. I'm not sure.. and then we went for another Show room.. they told that elx model is readily available.. and the service is Pathetic!!! yes.. cos they talked to us just like strangers,, we stood for 10 to 15 minutes.. and then we searched for chairs to sit.. that was sad.. this is not the same with Marulti and other show rooms.. where you enter the.. there a good ambience, the customer service is exceptionally well... I don't know.. why is that they are making such a scene.
Maybe they mean that they are fixing those cars submerged in the floods at their Kurla factory and selling them at a "big" discount and a warranty.
I say, buy only those Fiats which are manufactured in Pune, post Jan-2007.
I recently drove a friend's passion red Fiat Palio 1.2NV Sport and though the engine could use a little more grunt, the overall feel of the car is fantastic! It feels solid and planted at all times, and road imperfections don't faze it at all! Absolutely no squeaks or rattles even though the car has more than 25,000kms on it in one year. The engine feels less willing to rev than my family Zen, but the Maruti is a rattles and squeaks galore, especially past the 50,000 km mark.
When is the Pune plant going to commence production? I am waiting for the "new" Palio since...forever. Can't wait to test drive it with the 1.6L engine (if offered, in the first place). They are really slow in launching new products. Err.. a correction, not "new" products, but "products" as of now. Ratan Tata being on Fiat's board hasn't made much of a difference it seems. All the other big players in India, Maruti, Tata, Hyundai and recently GM have become extremely proactive when it comes to product upgrades/launches. When will Fiat learn?
Has the Tata-Fiat alliance made a difference in the dealership experience?
Palio Adventure : It is now 3 years and 3 months I owe a dream to buy this UNTAMED BEAST (This is what they presented before the world when they launched it) and after talking to numerous people who owe brand Palio and also the ones who do not, I have finally reached at a financial status where I am buying one. BUYING ONE? Well if you actually ask me, 18 people so far have said that don't waste your money in a product of a company where both of them do not sell!!! number of people who have experienced FIAT products have acknowledged the fact that first owe it and than claim it...
It's a matter of 6 lacs. I either loss it or I make it. Now it sounds a little philosophical when you are actually trying to make out a technical sense in owing a car!!!
By the way, with 1.6 LT engine, 100 bhp under the hood, why the hell entire world is talking about mileage and future of FIAT?
I know for sure that every man who buys a car polish it personally only in the first 3 months and later its the cleaner or the driver doing the needful. Exactly, the way golden days after wedding are over and than its the bachelors staying in neighbourhood who appreciate the wife more than the man himself does!!!
OK, so here we are talking about the TATA FIAT showroom treatment, also about the future of FIAT in India and more about a car...
Please be honest while answering. Which bloody car has got people writing about with passion? In India, it is not technology still, that sells. It's something called I WANT IT. Actually when ever the person who is planning to buy a car does a research, he or she fails to understand everything despite talking about absurd like gear speed ratio, mileage and so on. They fail to ask themselves. Will I look good while driving this car?
The concern is more on car and not on them.
So folks, let me put it in simple words. I am buying Fiat Palio Adventure Sports 1.6 (I too have done a li'l research and that's why I know all these full model name ;-) ) and not to please my neighbourhood, but to appreciate my choice that I owe an untamed beast!!!
By the way, did someone said that IT TAKES MAN WITH GUTTS TO TAME A BEAST LIKE FIAT ADVENTURE? Ahnnhaan... he owes an adventure for sure...
Good luck fellas' who are doing research... catch me live on road with my Adventure and please don't feel inferior because I am an Indian who cannot give up on a DREAM I have been seeing since last 3 years and 3 months...

I bought a Fiat Adventure Sport in January 2007. So far the experience has been pretty good.
I feel Fiat-India had lost the perception game in Indian minds. They are trying to climb back with TATA brand and their ability to sell large volumes in India. Hope they get it right this time around.
Yes in chennai every day there is a delivery of fiat palio stile.
It looks stylish, dependable, more comfort and space and we have to wait and see about the after sales service.
In major cities I hope there won't be a problem.
I am planning to buy a palio stile slx.
The servce guy is openly telling all other parts except major parts will take atleast 1 week to repair. Since they have wait for parts from prouction plant in pune.
Hi, I have a Fiat Palio NV 1.2 ELX (Oct 2003) Which has now down around 60000 KM. I am servicing Car in TVS Chennai which had been doing a good Job untill now, since they have been focusing on GM Cars. I tried to get my car serviced earlier during 2007 Dec in one of the TATA Dealers, but they seem to know nothing at that point, even now they seem to have no stock of Palio parts. Can some one recommend a good service centre where I can service my car. I love this car a lot ever since I Purchased it, I don't want to sell it now since it is still in good condition and I don't have any major problems till now, but I want to find right service centre that will ensure that I don't get any major problems. Kindly help me. Thanks.
