2006 Fiat Palio 2 HLX review from Egypt

Passenger/Driver Windows switches broken, keeps going up and down when you press the button, Fixed under warranty.

The car failed to shift gears, especially reverse, and the clutch pedal kept getting stuck to the ground, after a visit to the Dealer, the " Master Clutch System " was faulty from the factory, and was also replaced under warranty.

Really good performance for a 1.2L car, 83hp

Fuel Efficiency is good as well (normal driving 11.8 km/l -- Revving / speeding etc.. 8.5km/l)

Space is good for its size, altho the backseat passenger might want to ask you to move your chair a bit for more space to thier feet.

No noise at all from engine or exterior when inside.

Suspension is soft,the car ride is HIGH.. and I mean HIGH!! which is perfect for the 13th century bumpy roads we have here, but yet very very scary when attempting to take curves at high speed.

Running costs are somehow high, thanks to the new dealership, the spare parts are expensive for its price, yet they are falling down now, it's a new car here (introduced in April 2006 only).

Shares mechanical / engine spare parts from Older fiat models such as (The Siena / Petra and sometime the Punto) which makes it a lot easier and cheaper to find.

The car is overpriced here, sold for 70,000 LE ($12,300 US) and its only one version available the basic 1.2 16V...

No Fog Lights

No Cassette/CD

No ABS/EBD

No Airbags

No Alloys

and the mirrors and side skirts are black plastic. not color coded, this is the very basic HLX.

There's a lot more Trim / kit levels, but they are not available where I live.

I like the car very much, it surely looks a lot better than my old 94 Corrolla and it still costs cheaper to maintain.
