1999 Fiat Punto SX review from UK and Ireland
"Above average Eurobox"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The car has been very reliable to date. There have been no major faults.
Gripes would include poor ventilation/de-misting system - all windows fog up at an alarming rate and only rolling the windows down seems to work.
The car suffers major body roll in bends. My Punto has been broken into 5 times in 2 years.
The door locks are pre-historic in terms of their wrong-doer repelling ablities and the car came equipped with a reasonable mid range Blaupunkt CD system so the writing was on the walls from day 1.
General comments?
All in all a very competent Euro-box. Surprisingly roomy and versatile. Very acceptable long distance cruising abilities. The model was an end of the model life bells and whistles example so came with a good array of creature comforts as standard. Which was nice. Reliability Superb
Not a car to own if you are an inner-city dweller without a secure lockup however.
