Exhaust has started to 'bang' as I pull away fast.
The Sat Navigation cuts out sometimes.
What a car!
I only picked the car up two days ago, but wow!
The car leaves 'fast' cars in its wake.
Now OK I am only 22yrs old so this seems fast to me, but it might not to the older driver, but it is a lot of fun.
The Sat Navigation seems to cut out when it wants to, but this is being sorted by the garage.
The car will propel you from 0-60mph in 8.6secs (manufacture claims), but it seems a whole lot faster! and it will take you to 130mph easily.
So don't just sit there! Go buy one, someone told me these are hard to come by, maybe something to do with the group 15 (!) insurance group, but you will not regret it!
There is no such car as a 1.7 Punto HGT. I think you will find that your car is a 1.8. The insurance group is not 15 it is actually 14. The car is not as rare as you say as over 12,000 of these HGT Puntos were sold in the UK last year.
I would say this car is pretty rare.
2,300,000 approx. cars sold in UK
12,000 Punto HGT's sold 2001
quite a low percentage I think you'll agree.
The Capacity of the engine is 1747cc if we
need to be exact!
Insurance group rating is purely at the
discretion of the individual insurer.
Hope this helps clear up any confusion.
8.6 sec claimed by fiat, was with a full tank of fuel, a 20kg ballast in the boot and 2 passengers!
So yes the car is a whole lot faster than that figure.
Try 7.4-60 mph.
Although its been done quicker.

Yes I agree that the stated Fiat Punto HGT performance figures are too conservative. 0-60 is a good 1-2 seconds faster is reality as I've found out!.
Not knocking the HGT here, but why do people try to bloat its performance figures? My workmate has a 2001 plate model, and yes it's quick, but I always outdrag him in my Vectra GSi when we have a little 'tete a tetes' up the road.
Book 0-60 Vec GSi is 7.5, and judging by how I can pull away, I would say that mid 8's is about right. After 60mph the big old V6 comes into its own, but that's not the point.
Enjoy the car for what it is, a fun fast nice looking hot hatch :)
