Clutch wore out by 10,000 miles.
Replacement clutch lasted 600 miles.
Good size.
Good seating position.
Very adjustable seat.
We have a potentially dangerous problem with our Scudo, with the engine suddenly cutting out, especially in cold weather, even on Motorways. Garage have replaced the faulty battery, but problem still exists. Have any other owners found this problem, or a solution? Garage have noticed problem, but are at a loss to track down fault. Love the van, hate the potential danger.

Check fuel solenoid.
Concerning the fuel problem, just check if the primary electrical fuel pump is working. This is located inside the fuel tank, and delivers fuel to the high pressure mechanical pump. just turn on your ignition and listen for it. It runs for about 8 seconds, and turn off (if you haven't turned over the engine) I know this as mine (citroen dispatch) packed in today, I have yet to lower the tank and look at it, but main dealer is about £115 + VAT for the pump.
Hope this helps

I also have a FIAT SCUDO with the same problem. I have spent £900 and it is still cutting out.
We have 2 scudovans which have simlar problems we been fobbed off with so many lots of tripe.2main fuel pumps.£400 each waiting time 6 weeks for parts next time 3weeks for computer fault another new pump £400 plus labour the last straw is that tank pump has now broken up send bits of brass in to the fuel system main fuel injectors and so on. rendering the van usless on its last year of warranty you geussed it.its not covered if ucan help my email northbank@eurotelbroadband.com.
For the cutting out problem.
My old skoda had a similar problem (I know its not the same vehicle, but if youre in a fix probably best checking out).
The rev sensor located in the gear box was fixed in with a bolt whith had sheared due to rust. When accelerating or starting up hill it would bounce out. this would cause no signal to be sent through to the computer and so the car would stall.
Due to this I would check all electrical sensors if I come across the problem again.

My Scudo kept cutting out.
Took it for diagnostic- no fault found.
Was told "Van must break down for the diagnostic to locate fault, could be injectors blah, blah, blah ".
However the problem is an electrical fault locate the cable wrapped in a sheath, it is clearly visible on the left.
(This absorbs moisture over time and corrodes the cables inside causing shorting out and ENGINE TO CUT OUT)
Problem solved.
RE: Fiat Scudo 2.0 HDi (01 plate)
I'm relieved to have been told about this site as I think Fiat are in denial about the particular problem I have with my van.
Symptoms of fault: No pick up power in first gear as though no turbo. The turbo seems to be working as I can hear it whistling. The power only seems to kick in when the revs are up. If revs low in other gears then same problem. Heres the story so far...
1. Cam belt came off and seized the engine: cost £6000 for new one (don't say should have bought a new van!) Wilson Purves of Crawley gave it back with a power problem (lack of). I had to take it back to them twice after they fobbed me off saying that the new engine would be a bit tight to start with. Basically this thing had no turbo power. WP looked at it again and found there was a hole in the turbo pipe (so they said). Vehicle then drove well again.
2. After a while the lack of power problem started to occur again. I had no faith in WP so took it elsewhere. Part of the exhaust was replaced then eventually a new turbo, still no joy.
3. Eventually took it to Wilsons of Epsom as they were the flagship service centre nearest me and thought they would show me some consideration given the recurring problems I had had. They had the vehicle for 16 days before they thought they had found the problem. They said someone had glued a small pipe on and the glue had got inside the pipe and blocked it!! Also a turbo sleeve had not been put on when new turbo fitted. Cost of diagnostic & repair: £900.00!!
4. Drove away and van was a lot better, but not 100% as it should be. Went away and left van static for 3 weeks. Returned, started it and drove it and hey presto back to square one!! No power! I wrote to Wilsons and they said they would look at it again, but not for free!! Can't afford to let them have it again. They didn't even offer to do it under any kind of guarrantee!
Now got very willing mechanic assisting me to try and sort this, but hes never come across this before and has now highlighted this website to me in the hope someone out there can help us sort it without much more expense.
I would be very grateful if anyone who has experienced similar probs could let us know how the problem was sorted.
Thanks.

I have a Fiat Scudo van (51 plate) which is very tired to say the least, but it has never let me down and always started in the morning. However last week it would not start (the engine was turning over, but wouldn't fire up).
I took it to my local gargae and he told me it was the fuel pump, which he then replaced.
The van then seemed OK ( (for a few hours) except the usual complete lack of power) until the night time of the day the van was returned. I was driving along at about 40mph when the engine cut out and it slipped out of gear (this isn't the clutch as a new one has recently been fitted). The van then would not start again at all for a couple of days, then the same thing happened again. Has anyone had similar problems?

The brake pedal on my Fiat Scudo went absolutely solid and left me with no hydraulic brakes at all, then the next time were alright. Obviously I had to stop by handbrake.
It is a 2004 model with 24000 mls, only one month out of warranty. Any suggestions???
I wrote on this site on 12/12/06 about a nightmare fault I had with my Scudo. If you live in the south of England and you have had similar problems as described by me, then contact Auto Marine Diesel in Shoreham, West Sussex: 01273 415296.
They sorted the problem out within a few hours and it cost me less than £300!! By the way, the problem was a vacuum pump, which cost just a few quid... Fiat need a serious legal action taken against them, but as usual Joe Public hasn't got the time or money to mount such action and they get away with it time and time again.
On my count I'm voting with my wallet and will never deal with Fiat again.
PS: I have no commercial interest in Auto Marine Diesel, and am glad to say they have restored my faith in serious technicians abilities to help a frustrated customer.

I have a Fiat Scudo van and have constant brake problems.
I have had new pads, discs, hoses and now a new servo fitted and the brakes are still the same.
They start to bind and you can feel the pressure building on the brakes.
Any ideas???

I have been working on a Scudo which is experiencing a braking problem. Brakes keep binding on the front. I have replaced both front calipers, flexi hoses, pads&discs, servo and master cylinder even all the metal pipe work problem still there. The next step is to look at the operating lever (the rod that connects the pedal to the servo) and hopefully that is where the problem is?Will let you no. until then I will just keep going and hope to cure it.
My fiat scudo had the same problems. adjusted rod connected to servo, problem solved. when the brakes heat up and expand not enough clearance. shorten rod and brakes will release.
I work for a big company whom have been having problems with fiat skudo brakes binding. I took some advice from the man on 20th Jan 2008 who advised to adjust the rod from the servo and this solved my problem. It is a pity that I didn't look this up before I bought a caliper and a master cylinder. cheers.
