2002 Fiat Stilo JTD Dynamic review from UK and Ireland
"Very solid and comfortable motorway cruiser"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Front Shocks and Suspension arms, common fault.
Brother has 2004 JTD with same problem.
Most of family owns a marea diesel, all of those have suspension arm issues as well. The rubber bushes are too weak.
I love Fiat's, but the suspension leaves a lot to be desired. Very simple and inexpensive to fix though.
General comments?
JTD is very torquey standard, but I had mine remapped and it will now out pace any 2.0/2.2 petrol whilst still averaging 45-47 mpg.
Effortless to drive. The 5 door is a bit unstable in the corners, but the 3dr JTD is much more planted.
I have the sky roof and integrated sat nav system which are superb, but to get either fixed will cost more than the car is worth.
The engine is not as quiet as my marea 105 JTD, but has a much better clutch to handle the power increase of the remapping.
1st gear is far too short. And the torque of the engine would have suited a 6th gear.
One irritatingthing though is there is no foot rest.
