Only minor faults:
Airbag sensors occasionally report nonexistent faults.
Driver's door mirror heater not working.
Rear door hinges groan when opening or closing.
NAV+ (Fiat's integrated sat-nav/cd/mp3/radio/GSM system) has annoying software bugs.
My car was the dealer's demonstrator and so has a high level of equipment.
I am amazed that you can get so much for your money. Factory fitted MP3 player, split tailgate, huge multi-segment sunroof, rear seats which recline, xenon headlamps, remote control window closing, memory electric drivers seat, voice operated ICE, etc. etc. I know other makes can have these features, but the Fiat has them all for under £20k RRP (and Fiat dealers give big discounts!)
The JTD engine is very powerful and yet economical. I can easily accelerate to motorway speeds (70MPH+) when merging on the slip roads, yet always get 50MPG, or more on long cruises. The torque means it is fun to drive on A roads too.
If this car had a German badge on it, I'm sure it would be twice the price.
I would like to find out if anyone else is having problems with the tailgate of there multiwagon, as my car has been back to the dealer several times to be realigned and the boot open sign comes on. The car has recently needed two tailgate struts also.
I agree with the originator's comments entirely. I also bought an ex dealer multi-wagon JTD with all the toys (except leather interior). I have most of the minor niggles with squeaky rear hinges / passenger heated mirror etc on my vehicle which I have owned for 7 months. However I'm very pleased with the car overall lots of space, a decent engine & no reliability issues apart from the above. I bought the vehicle for an amazing £6.5k on a 53 plate with 39k mileage with the dealer's taking the hit with the Deprciation. I intend to keep this car for a while & recommend for serious consideration as a second hand buy it to anybody who needs that little bit extra space.
