1993 Fiat Tipo Catalyst review from UK and Ireland
"100mph tardis"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Crank angle sensor went at 100,000 miles, but apart from that and a dodgy bulb fitting, the car has never broken down.
General comments?
Go for a post '92 one if you can afford it, you can pick up a good K plater for around £600.00, this uses the digiplex 2 system, as opposed to the old ignition system. This is far more economical, and the build quality is better, stay clear of metallic paint, the paint is very thin and chips easily.
Buy your parts from Motor Factors, you can save a packet, Fiat have never made a brake pad in their lives... and come on guys, don't moan about the electrics, it's Italian! You don't buy an Italian car for family fun, buy a brown Sierra estate if that's what you want! You buy it because it's different, cheap, fast and looks cool.
