1995 Fiat Tipo sedicivalvole review from Argentina

"Torquey and Revvy - Italian Sporty hatch - Sedicivalvole"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Clutch slave cylinder snapped.

Engine and trans mounts had to be replaced.

New brake pads.

Timing belt and tensor replaced.

Still looking for new windows guide.

General comments?

I just got this car and most of the replaced parts where changed just for prevention of future problems.

I filled the engine with Castrol RS synthetic oil to keep it all nice inside.

I also refilled the brake circuit with DOT4 fluid.

This car is very fast for its year and its quality is superior to most Fiats I know.

It corners like a champ and braking is very good, this car has disks on all fours standard and the suspension is more like an Alfa Romeo 145 than other Tipos.

The sound of the engine is a lovely groar... Even more after the addition af an aftermarket intake pipe and filter.

The engine is incredibly smooth all thru the rpm range and over 2500 acceleration is very noticeable.

Its weird how I got this car after I blew a Ford Mondeo in 5 days... went to the car place and while I was looking at it 17 inches wheels I was like let me take it for a spin... fell in love with car instantly.

Then I took it to the Oil place I usually go and the guys tell me that they have been servicing this car for 6 years And I got to know the whole story of the car... Sorry if its getting too long, but it makes a point...

So the car was only raced by a rich kid who has a lot of money, the car had a turbo thing going on for a while, but the previous owner decided it wasn't fast enough so he redid the engine naturally aspirated with all new parts including hi performance cams, superchip and forged pistons.

Right after that the kid got bored of the car and traded it in for cabrio Mercedes Benz to thye same guy who sold it to me.

So this oil place guys had a record of it's maintenance and the last oil change was at 4000 km when they changed the oil for the first time after rebuilding it.

So I got a souped up sedicivalvole without knowing it... The car was in great shape with zero rust or repaired parts and I liked it... Now I plan to keep it cause it's a great, fast and fun to drive.

The interior is surprisingly roomy even for 4 adults... and storage space is very big indeed.

The Recaro factory seats are jsut the best, very supportive yet comfy.

The dash Is very clever with oil temp, oil pressure and water temp. in the center.

This car is not the regular Fiat you can find in Argentina, this is a unique eropean hatch capable of out driving some serious modern cars. I had beaten hondas, GTI's, and more.

People race a lot over here. ;)

Overall If you can find some of this rare Fiat and if its in good shape get ahold of it, you won't regret it. I promise.
