1981 Fiat X1/9 review from North America
"Refined Italian classic/open air love affair"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced original clutch at 88K.
Replaced heater valve.
General comments?
Being that it is a 25+ year old car, it is considered a classic and has "Collector" plates on it.
Contrary to popular belief, this little gem of a sportscar is more reliable than today's more high-tech engineering. I've owned several X1/9's, but this one is my fave!
It is completely restored to "better than new" condition, and resides in British Columbia, Canada.
I use it on long road trips over high mountain passes and winding roads. This is a no no-nonsense 'point and drive' car. I LOVE IT!!
