1990 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer review from North America
"Troublesome... get a full analysis before buying"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
What hasn't? It is a ford, after all.. At only 98,000 miles, the rear fenders are rusting out, the auto-lock hubs are worn out, the engines dropping low oil pressure when hot, a fairly good indication the main engine bearings are going out, oil leaks everywhere, transmission slipping in 2nd and 3rd gears, a/c went out, rear u-joint needed to be rebuilt, power lock (drivers side) went out, drivers seat broke, rear window having problems going up, and it needed a new radiator and exhaust system (it would not overheat with a blown radiator, the one good thing I can say about this vehicle) Oh yeah, the entire steering column needed to be rebuilt, about $350.
General comments?
Vehicle had been roughed pretty good in the hills this could explain all the drive-train and engine wear/problems, and vehicle still runs strong.. Am considering a high volume oil pump, but don't know if that would help the low oil pressure (sending unit replaced) 4x4 transfer case had to be rebuilt, about $700... Lots of room, though, but adding up all the repairs needed + the fact that it gets 13-16 mpg, its not a worthwhile investment.
