1987 Ford Bronco XLT review from North America
"It is a missed, tough ol' bird"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Various water hose failures-211,000 miles.
U-joint replacement-227000 miles.
Bullet hole in the right side below the horse.
Looked like it was using it as a toilet.
Rust in tailgate, common for these.
Alternator-297000 miles
transmission blew all forward gears, and only.
Reverse worked, and had to be driven home at 2 am backwards with my wife blocking the road.
General comments?
Was all in all a very good, rugged vehicle that we used 24/7, up in the mountains, hauling elk out of places where it should never have been.
The interior was suprisingly in-tact for its age and abuse
four wheel drive never failed me and the low range worked wonders
it was almost like family and we were all sad to see it go.
