1986 Ford Capri Laser review from UK and Ireland
"The Professionals... for peanuts !"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing, nothing, and then everything.
Apart from once when it was about minus 2, the door catch jammed open and it took me half an hour to shut the door so I could drive home and I ended up looking like Jack Nicholson at the end of The Shining, but hey, it only happened the once.
General comments?
This car started first time, every time. It went, it stopped, it had comfy seats and the heater worked. And yet it was so much more than just an old banger. Ok, everyone laughs at you when you drive a Capri but you know that you're having a hundred times more fun than they are every time you hit a roundabout in the rain. And it howled like a banshee, worrying sheep and making small children cry.
But then one morning it just decided enough was enough and with a menacing crackle the whole electrical system shut down and the engine blew up. So that was that.
