1998 Ford Contour SL review from North America
"A piece of ****"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The following things went on the car:
Timing Belt
Head Gasket
Battery
Alternator
Transmission (x2)
The key is stuck in the ignition and will not come out.
All very expensive things. If you are looking for a reliable inexpensive car this is not the one for you. It is the most unreliable vehicle I have ever owned, something is ALWAYS wrong with it and they are not always cheap fixes. The timing belt caused me the most grief because I brought it into the garage 6 times before they could figure out what was wrong with it because the timing belt is located a tough spot to check. This is partly the garages fault too, but it was still not very pleasing.
This car has left me on the side of the road countless times and without CAA I would have sold it a long time ago.
The cup holders also do not work since they were designed with hardly any sides to hold the drink in tightly.
General comments?
It can be a comfortable ride and is cheap on gas, but that does not equal out at all to the things that have gone wrong with it.
