1996 Ford Contour GL review from North America
"LOW"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The check engine light stays on.
My o.d. light flashes, causing hard
shifting.
Transmission now will not shift unless you let off the gas.
Engine will not idle at a constant speed.
I smell oil burning, but can't find any leaking.
General comments?
The engine light stays on because of the converter going out.
This car is what the ford people call a throw away car, it cost more to fix than it is worth.
Haven't had much engine trouble yet.
The OD light flashing is from a sensor on the back of the transmission, not worth fixing.
I'm just biting the bullet and driving this car until it won't go anymore.
