1990 Ford Corsair GL review from Australia and New Zealand
"Reliable, but with expensive repairs on occasion"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Battery died.
Starter engine and ignition modules broke down.
Exhaust replaced.
Interior ceiling cover came loose.
Top of radiator replaced.
Injection system acts up occasionally.
General comments?
Most of the above list are normal for a car its age, components do wear out eventually.
The only problem I have with the car, is that the so-called ECM light comes on, which indicates the injection system is having problems.
When it does act up, the engine doesn't get enough fuel, and with low rpm (idling) the engine just goes off, which can be a hassle in city traffic.
But other than that, I think it is a very reliable car, that I have driven with all over the state.
And gives great mileage. I can always get 600kms
to a tank, even with a lot of city traffic. And on highways, 700kms to a tank.
