2003 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor review from North America
"A very nice, safe car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Replaced front sidemarker bulbs, license plate bulb at 120,901.
Replaced rear U-Joint (driveshaft) at 126,600.
Cruise and horn buttons inoperative (Mother spilled ice cream on the steering wheel).
Replaced belt about 500 miles ago.
Seats are torn around seat belt latches from officer's belt.
General comments?
All of the repairs I mentioned are regular repairs and will be done on all vehicles at some point, regardless of year, make, model, etc.
One of the safest vehicles on the road, Police suspension and tires contribute to this.
Extra Heavy Duty and Severe Duty everything.
I don't intend on buying another vehicle for a good while, because this car is so reliable.
This car is a retired Border Patrol car, and had 120,870 when we first test drove it.
Gets about 15 MPG, but that's pretty good considering that it weighs 2 tons and has so much power.
Being a Police Package, everytime I look, somebody's slowing down for me, giving a turn signal, stopping at a stop sign, and otherwise driving a whole lot more considerately than they would with any other vehicle.
I would recommend this car to anyone who wants a car that's safe, comfortable, large, and powerful.
