1993 Ford Crown Victoria P72(fleet/taxi) review from North America
"The ultimate severe service vehicle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The only major trouble the Crown Vic had were a failed transmission at about 65,000 miles. This is a common problem with 93 Vic's because it was the first year of the electronic transmission. The fuel lines began to leak at abour 130,000, which was an expensive repair due to the complex nature of the job. Not bad for almost 140,000 miles and 10 years!!
General comments?
This crown vic was one of the best cars I have ever owned. A faithful and reliable friend, It never let me down. The P72 severe service (taxicab) package was the best feature of the car. This package included specially upgraded heavy duty equipment that can easily withstand the 250,000 miles in four years that NYC cabbies pound onto their cabs. This means no repairs at all for the average user.
The ford crown victoria (92-97) is one of the best built, best styled, fastest and most durable cars ever made. I am proud to have owned this unique and hard to find version. And I hope my 2002 P74 LX model can follow in it's tire tracks.
