1995 Ford Crown Victoria Base review from North America
"Super Value High Quality Car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Both front power window regulators broke in 2001. Total $200 Fixed self.
Oil consumption started around 150,000-at 1 qrt every 750-miles-constant-not getting worse. $1.50 a quart.
EGR valve ports clogged up with carbon at 200,000-miles. Cleaned out self-took 3-hours.
Transmission started to shudder around 35mph-added 2oz of Friction Modifer. Has not done since. Started at 130,000-miles.
2-bulbs on dash burned out-fixed my self. $8.00.
Engine ping spark knock-started around 130,000-miles. getting worse-I use 93oct in gas tank. Doesn't ping in winter or with 93oct.
Driver's door panel cracked and pops when my leg rubs on it.
General comments?
Excellent build quality.
Excellent power and room-rear seat not as much room for such a large car.
Easy to drive and relaxing-super soft steering.
Excellent AC and heat.
Excellent visability.
Excellent mpg
30%city
70%hwy at 60mph
Total avg at 24.5mpg.
Super bright headlights.
Great car.
Top of front doors pointed and sharp if they hit someone in the face while getting in or out of car. Cure=full padded roof.
Trunk is too big to use. Stuff slides down in deep well and I have to get into trunk to reach.
Car always starts and has never even had to have an alignment. Solid front end and rear end.
Body stlye getting outdated.
