2001 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor from North America - Comments

"Best car I've ever owned!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Needed oil changes every 3,000 miles and new tires after I found that the car had Posi-Track Rear End, so burnouts are very easy and fun.

General comments?

Incredible car! Very roomy, comfortable on long road-trips and cruises very well. Performance-wise, the car is seriously fast, a real sleeper. Its no wonder why police departments across the country use this as their patrol cars.

"Posi-Traction" is a GM term - Ford's version is "Trac-Lok", which is what you have ;-)

All kidding aside, YES, these cars are amazing. They don't have all of the bells and whistles of the LX or Sport models, but what they lack in creature comforts, they definitely make up in reliability. Oil coolers, trans coolers, better computer tune from the factory, better transmission programming, better suspension components... you can run these things to 300K miles or more as long as you keep up on the basic maintenance. Plus you get nice, strong running V8 with true dual exhaust.

Oh - one last perk: nobody drives like an idiot when they are near you on the highway :)

The CVPI... A real good "BANG" for the buck kind of car wouldn't ya say, no pun intended.
