"For the price, great car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Wiring is a bit screwey. Turn on headlights and the high beam indicator comes on. Turn on the high beams and the indicator dims. Also driver turn signal closest to the tire is out. both are probably cause of removing emergency light equipment. Haven't fixed yet because its not really causing a problem. just annoying. Alt voltage looks low all the time and a whining coming from it while reving engine. the dealership is going to test it and if bad put new one in for free. Nothing else, only been 500miles so far though.

General comments?

This is my 2nd vic. last was a 93lx w/280k miles on it before it died-got hit head on around 35mph sitting still by a '04 drunken xterra. My crown vic still ran/drove, I can't say the same about the xterra.

I think it looks much better than the older ones and is built better. I LOVE the PI extras, especially the suspension, this car doesn't know how to sway.

It feels a bit slow to me, but it is around 3800lbs and the 4.6 is kinda small... I drive 300-1000 miles a week on business and it is comfortable enough and has enough room to fit all my luggage + probably 15 people...

UPDATE TO ORIGINAL POST-

Well, I have had the car for less than a month and it is a POS. it still runs, but that's about all the good I can say about it.

It hesitates horribly, can't cruise between 30-60 without it jerking, not subtle at all, very annoying. If you turn of O/D then it goes away (seems the trans is shifting into OD, but keeps kicking back out of it constantly).

Electronics haven't actually caused a problem yet, but I foresee it happening. sometimes the int. dome light comes on when you open the door, most of the time it doesn't. sometimes the parking brake ON indicator works, sometimes it doesn't. not to mention the headlight hi-beam inicator issue... horn doesn't work, but it appears there isn't even an actual horn in the car. the spot where it should be behind the front bumper is empty.

I find the car very difficult to comfortably drive straight on the freeway yet the alignment seems fine. It just seems like I constantly have to correct the steering to keep it straight yet it doesn't pull either way, even when braking-hands off wheel.

OH and MPG??? I drove the car a normal day, about 100 miles. (i am an outside sales consultant) and I would say 90% i-5 (70mph) and 10% city. I barely used the gas the whole day. no passing, no flooring, just feathering the gas pedal, enough to move and keep moving. 15.4 mpg for that day. I was expecting I could pull 30 freeway out of it.

It is a fun car to fishtail around in when its wet out, but that's really all I use it for now. I bought a different car (06 mitsu lancer) and it works, a bit slow, but it works. (oh yeah, and I don't need to feather the pedal to get 40mpg on i-5)
