2001 Ford Escape XLT V6 review from North America
"Good smallish SUV and fun to drive"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Transmission: needle bearing (inside), drive shaft seal, drive shaft U-joint. $1200.
Still a very slight tranny oil leak (single drops)
Both stabilizer bar links ($17 per piece for the part)
General comments?
Good size.
Good pickup and handles well.
The 3.0 V6 is a bit thirsty - absolutely speaking, perhaps not relatively speaking (given the weight of the truck and comparable vehicles). I would prefer an engine that was easier on fuel consumption.
I love driving it.
