2002 Ford Escape 4x4 xlt review from North America
"Lousy piece of junk for the price of vehicle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Transmission seized at 63,000 kilometres and had to be rebuilt. Caused by metal filings blocking passage of oil by oil pump that burnt the transmission bearing in crankshaft of motor broke after 67,000 kms. Took to ford dealer who could not find problem. Finally took to mazda dealer who found problem and replaced motor. Problem was that motor was no good as well and had to put another motor in.
Ford did not help at all due to past warranty period.
Finally traded it for Kia Sorento. In heaven now.
General comments?
Vehicle was good looking and handled great
two major faults in vehicle in only three months period.
Unloaded vehicle after engine problems.
