"Lousy piece of junk for the price of vehicle"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Transmission seized at 63,000 kilometres and had to be rebuilt. Caused by metal filings blocking passage of oil by oil pump that burnt the transmission bearing in crankshaft of motor broke after 67,000 kms. Took to ford dealer who could not find problem. Finally took to mazda dealer who found problem and replaced motor. Problem was that motor was no good as well and had to put another motor in.

Ford did not help at all due to past warranty period.

Finally traded it for Kia Sorento. In heaven now.

General comments?

Vehicle was good looking and handled great

two major faults in vehicle in only three months period.

Unloaded vehicle after engine problems.

Looking at both problems there, its not the car's fault.

The auto transmission needed a fluid and filter change as evidence of the metal filings getting in the way. Changing fluid and filters regularly or at factory indicated intervals would have removed those particles and kept the tranny in good condition.

Seeing that lack of maintainance from the prior owner, it's a used car I assume?, I think the bearing seized because the engine had not been changed regularly either and the dirty oil plus other gunk stopped the bearing and totalled the crank.

Not ford's fault. Its either your or the prior owner's fault for not doing normal maintainance.

Just read the comments from whoever about my ford escape with tranny and motor problems.

For your info I had the transmission flushed at 53,000 kms and did regular oil changes using 5w20 as recommended by Ford.

Vehicle is still a piece of junk.

Engines don't just have problems. Lack of maintenence and just hammering on engines every time you turn the key is the main reasons they fail. Granted some materials used in construction could possibly be a weak link that cause bigger problems, everything you describe can be attributed to lack of proper maintenance and proper intervals.

Also trading in an American made SUV for a Korean SUV... I am confused.

Concerning the Korean SUV. I have had it for over 1 and 1/2 years now and absolutely no problems. Have only had to have oil change as scheduled and brake adjusted at NO charge. 5 years or 100,000 total warranty.

Vehicle runs like a charm and will replace it in 3 years with another.

Small wonder Ford is going out of business. NOT SOON ENOUGH.
