2002 Ford Escape review from North America
"Good"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My air bag light went on the first week I had the car.. Dealer said it just needed to be re-calibrated... No charge and no paperwork either. One month later on again and dealer fixed it at no cost... Six months later in the shop again, fixed under warranty. One year later on again, fixed again, no paperwork... One year later, to the shop car out of warranty $300. to replace pretensor... Light out then 1 month later passenger side pretensor replaced another $300. This has gone on and on. I keep hoping Ford will get there act together. Light came on again last week, back to the shop (not a dealer) and they replacer the drivers side harness... Two days later the light is on again. I do have documentation from Ford that the airbag WILL deploy if the airbag light is on. I gave it to my Son and told him if I am ever killed in the Escape and the airbag may have saved my life. Get a Lawyer and sue them!!!
I just made my final payment on the Escape and cannot afford to get into another payment so have to keep the Escape which actually other than the airbag light has been an awesome car!!!
General comments?
Great car except for airbag light problems.
