1995 Ford Escort review from North America
"I think it was very trustworthy"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I had to replace the battery once.
I had to replace the alternator twice, and I think it's because of the jerk that fixed it the first time.
I did have to replace the clutch at 125,000, which is not bad. I had other cars that needed a clutch replacement at lower mileage.
We had an accident on the thruway and it was totaled, but incredibly my children were fine.
Otherwise just regular service and maintenance.
General comments?
I bought this car from a neighbor of mine. It had high mileage then, and had higher mileage right before the accident.
It was fantastic on gas mileage and handled very well on snowy weather.
They are made cheaply, but not when it comes to performance.
With these cars you can't beat it.
