Nothing major has happenend.
The speedometer dances a bit above 75.
My shifter boot won't seem to stay on all the way. Oh well.
This car has been great to me.
I've had no mechanical problems with it and have kept up with maintenance intervals. I would really suggest using the Ford Motorcraft plugs in this car.
Even when I've gone past an oil change or tune up, it still just charges on like a champ.
The thing starts right up every time, and it just feels like it loves to go places.
Zipping around windy roads is very fun in this car. It being a 2 door hatch, you can really get a feel for its size and toss it around.
The sport package is cool. I love the alloy wheels and the spoiler.
I would recommend this car to most people. It's great on gas and is fun to drive. I haven't driven the automatic, but the 5 speed manual is great.
Sounds like you like you escort as much as I do. I have a 1995 Escort GT and I love to take every corner to the max :) it handles like a dream since I put in the front and rear strut bars and the I put in a stainless steel electronic ice box for the intake ant that helped a lot with power also added new injectors new suspension, I put in coil overs, and new rims and tires, full performance headers, down pipe, and cat back exhaust by Borla. over all I love tis car and wouldn't trade for the new one if my life depended on it. also has 110,000 miles and still gets 35 mpg :)
