1980 Ford Escort RS 2000 review from Australia and New Zealand
"A good classic fun drivable car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Need a new differential because the one put into it by the old owner is too low.
New windscreen wipers (that is to be expected).
Seats have worn, but they have been replaced.
There is nothing else wrong with it it is a perfect car for anyone that likes classic cars!.
General comments?
This is a very drivable car for the person that wants to give it a absolute caining.
The cornering is awesome handles like it is on rails because it is rear wheel drive it just loves sliding with the back end out
it's a lot of fun.
Of the line standard these cars are not very fast, but I have put some bigger weber's on mine and it outs out 125hp I have just recently bought some mroe weber's that are 40mm and that should put out about 140hp (it is very quick)
I paid $7,700 ($Australian Dollars) a lot for an escort, but it is one of the best in my city runs well and is in very good contact.
The key to buying one of these cars is get one with no rust or damage.
