1990 Ford Escort Eclipse review from UK and Ireland
"All in all for a cheap runaround it's a fantastic car with a surprising amount of extras"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Brake Pads were worn on purchase hence a discounted price.
Front and rear bearings all went at the same time at about 95000
Multi V Belt went a few weeks ago.
General comments?
All of the repairs done in this car have all been standard repairs needed on any car at some point.
When I bought the car last year it'd done 860000 now 7 months later its done 115000 and despite that incredibly high mileage for the 7 month gap its still running absolutly fine and has taken me from one end of the country to another many times without grumble.
OK so its not the most comfortable of cars, but for a 1990 what do you expect!!!
As for noise, when I first bought it the noise was horrendous as its lowered 45mm, but a quick coating of dynamat throughout the interior the only thing that can now be heard is the engine.
