1995 Ford Escort LX Wagon review from North America
"Reliable and cheap to fix"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have replaced the entire exhaust twice, including the muffler.
I have replaced the alternator, battery and radiator twice as well.
I have replaced the brakes, rotors, brake pads and shoes.
I replaced the rear struts and coils.
It needed new lifts for the hatchback.
I put a new lock on the hatchback as well as the original one was jammed.
I have had a new transmission kit installed.
I have put two refurbished heaters into the dash. (New one's are no longer available)
I have also put in another few hundred dollars worth of hoses and belts into this car.
General comments?
The car is cheap looking. It has rust over the wheels, which seems to be a common problem with this car.
It has tremendous power for such a small engine. I can pass newer/larger cars with ease. It also picks up speed really well.
It is obviously not the coolest car out there, but it was a great starter-car for me and never failed me on long trips.
