2000 Ford Escort ZX2 from North America - Comments

I agree I have a 98 Escort ZX2 and it's a piece of s***. Lets see; timing belt, transmission and about 10 other things have gone wrong with it. I paid 2 grand for the car a little over a year ago and I have spent over 4500 fixing it. It breaks down every 30 days at least. Do not buy this car.

I happen to be a happy owner of a ZX2 98. In the last ten years I've only replaced 2 timing belts, several sets of brake pads and one clutch. My AC gave up this year, but only after 117,000 miles of service. I plan to drop a new motor in her along with a turbo kit and body kit with new paint job. The total cost is around 12K, which beats the pants off anything GM or Dodge has on the streets these days!
